2012 teams
Out of many excellent proposals, 14 high school teams were selected as winning entrants in the 2012 European CanSat competition. The following winning teams will be launching their CanSats at Andøya Rocket Range in Norway, in April 2012:

- Navican - Heimdal Videregående Skole, Trondheim, Norway
- Azorean Shearwater - EBS Santa Maria - Vila do Porto (Azores), Portugal
- Bolyai - Székely Mikó Theoretical High School; Saint George (Sfantu Gheorghe), Romania
- Alpha - Bearsden Academy, Scotland
- DeLaCosa - Colegio Retamar, Pozuelo, Spain
In addition, a back-up team was selected:
- Aspire - St. Paul's School, London, United Kingdom
The final selection was based upon a number of key criteria, including the scientific and technical merit of the proposed mission, the programme of outreach associated with the team’s experiment, the distribution of work between the team members and the time that could be allocated to the project at school.
